Barishal, (Barta24.com): The authorities of Barishal University has announced the closure of the University in view of the continuous movement of the students for attaining their 12 point demands.
On Wednesday night (March27), a notice signed by the Registrar of the University announced this closure for an indefinite period.
In the notice it was mentioned that due to the untoward incidents arising out during the observance of Independence and National day the general students, teachers, officers and employees became scared of their security. For the sake of keeping the overall situation within control the authority of Barishal University as per ordinance 11(10)of 2013, is hereby announce the closure of the University from March 28. All classes, academic activities including examinations are hereby withheld for indefinite period.
Simultaneously all resident students have been directed to leave their dormitories by 5 P.M. of March 28.
On the other hand when the indefinite closure news spread through various social media the organizers of the movement announced to intensify their on going movement.
However, no comment could be taken from the University authority.
On the contrary the students protested the decision of the authority and at the dead of night came out of their residential halls and started demonstration on the streets.
