Dhaka, (Barta24.cm): Landowner of Banani FR (Farooq and Rupayan) tower SMHI Farook(65) was arrested by Detective(DB) Police.
On Saturday (March30) at mid night Farooq was arrested by police from Bashundhara housing area. The Assistant Commissioner of DB police(North) Saklain Sithil confirmed the arrest to Barta24.com.
He informed that the landowner SMHI Farooq was arrested and was taken to DB police head quarter.
Earlier the illegally built vertical floor owner of FR tower BNP leader Tasfirul Islam was arrested by DB police.
It was learnt that in 1996 the owners of FR tower Engineer Farooq and Rupayan group jointly applied to Rajuk for the approval of the design of 18 floors. The Rajuk gave approval of 18 floors. Next in 2001 during BNP-Jamaat rule the building was vertically extended to 23 floors.
It may be mentioned here that on last March 28 in a devastating fire at Banani FR tower 25 people were killed and 70 received various injuries who are under treatment at different hospitals of the capital.
