Prime Minister wants Ramadan food price stable

Dhaka, (Barta24.com): Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina urged the business men to keep the price of essentials within the reach of the people. While inaugurating foundation of various development projects through video-conferencing from Gono Bhavan on Wednesday(April3) she made the call to the business men of the country.

Sheikh Hasina urged the business men not to enhance the food prices including gram, pulses and sugar during the month of Ramadan. She also requested them not create any artificial crisis of the food items. She called upon them to take preparations from right now to facilitate the situation.

While talking to Mostofa Kamal, chief of Meghna group the Prime Minister requested him about the matter of price stable and make the essentials available during the month of Ramadan.

In reply Mostofa Kamal assured the PM that I am making commitment that the price would remain stable and there is enough stock of food items in our go downs. We have also informed the matter to the Ministry of Commerce. There will be no problem. In our market the price of essential food items is less than International market.

In the above video conference held in the economic zone of Sonargaon of Narayanganj. In the video conference deputy commissioner of Narayanganj  Rabbi Mia, Liaquat Hossain Khoka MP and Australian investor Siddharta Kawar among others were present.

Earlier through video conferencing the PM inaugurated 11 economic zones including Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Industrial city covering Mirsharai of Chattogram and Feni, and laid the foundation stones of 13 economic zones.

Besides, she also inaugurated the commercial industry set ups in 16 economic zones and laid the foundation of 20 industrial units. At the same she also inaugurated 5 on going development projects.
