WIPO to help Bangladesh to set up Intellectual academy

Dhaka, (Barta24.com): World Intellectual property academy(WIPO) Director General (DG) Francis Ory informed the current chairman of WSIS Forum Mostofa Zabbar, who is also the Bangladesh Minister for Information and Communication Technology that they will helpBangladesh in setting up Intellectual academy here.

Francis Ory told on Wednesday (April 10) this at WSIS Forum headquarter, Switzerland. This was learnt from the press release of the ICT division signed by Information Officer Shahidul Alam Majumdar.

Mostofa Zabbar in the meeting stressed on formulating new Intellectual property law in line with the present trend of advancement of Information and communication technology. He also called upon to get highest cooperation of access to books consortium of WIPO.

He also stressed on the protection of Intellectual property(IP) in communication with the Internet world.

WIPO DG also pointed out Industry 4.0, big data, artificial intelligence in parallel to the new policy of IP.

Francis Ory also briefed the Minister about the steps to be taken for the protection of IP of Bangladesh.

In the meeting Deputy Secretary of Mohammad Khurshid Alam Khan, first secretary of Bangladesh Mission in Geneva Mahbubur Rahman, Information technology project director Reza Selim and high officials of WIPO.
