Chattogram,(Barta24.com): Information Minister Dr. Hassan Mahmud informed that due to development of technology on line news media has expanded than before. Every one up load their news in a competitive way which occasionally results in presenting untrue news. This creates some unrest in the media. Again many have created you tube channels of their own containing baseless information. The government is trying to control those news media through broad casting policy.
The minister told all this while inaugurating nine hour duration TV program telecasting of BTV, Chattogram center on Saturday (April 13).
The Minister further informed that the government is mulling to make an outlet of Film Development Corporation (FDC) at Chattogram BTV center. Short films can be produced along with film shooting, the Minister added.
Dr. Hassan Mahmud disclosed that at present multifarious development works worth Taka One lakh thousand crore is going on in Chattogram. For removing water logging in the city alone an allotment of Taka ten thousand crore was made. It is the result of the special attention of the Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
In his speech as the chief guest, Dr. Hassan Mahmud told that due to the initiative of the Prime Minister the program of Chattogram BTV was enhanced to six hours. Now from April 14 on the very day of Bangla New year the duration will be nine hours. He called upon every one of this BTV center to sincerely try to maintain the quality of the program. He also assured that at the end of the current year the duration of BTV, Chattogram will be further increased.
The Minister told that our Prime Minister is very dynamic and media friendly. During her tenure as many as 44 private TV channels have been given license. The publication of news papers have increased by 40 percent during the last ten years. As such there is a revolution in the social media.
It is a historical day for Chattogram BTV and soon this channel will be brought under terrestrial mode.
Secretary of the ministry Abdul Malek presided over the function arranged at the TV premises while BTV DG S.M. Harun or Rashid and CCC Mayor AZM Nasiruddin were the special guests.
