Dhaka: Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina called upon all to be united to fight the terrorism and militancy and also urged upon all to inform the law enforcers as soon any body gets the presence of these two dangerous elements. She said that we don’t want to see Bangladesh under the threat of militancy which was once harbored by the past rulers. We want to build up Bangladesh developed and a peaceful country, she said.

She said that if necessary stringent laws will be enacted to punish the culprits involved with the sexual harassments of women including the killing of Nusrat. The government will not see the political affiliation of the culprits involved with sexual harassment. Many law makers have told to frame strict law but for information I would like to say that law is already there now it is to be implemented only. However, if necessary the law will be made more stringent to punish the culprits involved with sexual harassment.

Sheikh Hasina while taking part on a general motion on Monday evening(April29) in the Jatiyo Sangsad(JS)session brought to express condemnation in the Christchurch mosque in New Zealand, in the church and hotel in Sri Lankarecently. The motion also included to call upon all the governments of the world, parliaments to build up resistance against such incidents including the sexual harassment and killing of Nusrat. The session was presided over by speaker Dr. Shirin Sharmin Chowdhury.

Supporting the motion, the Prime Minister said that in a peaceful country New Zealand, one ultra Christian keeping camera on his head in cool brain mercilessly killed 53 Muslims in the mosque while they were saying Juma prayer. The visiting Bangladesh national team players were saved miraculously. In Sonagazi of Feni, the principal of the madrasha sexually harrased Nusrat. The principal and his cohorts created pressure on her to withdraw the case but the courageous student did not agree to do same. That enraged the Principal Sirajuddowla which resulted in the killing by pouring kerosene on her body and then burning her.

She said that the militancy is not our problem only rather it is global problem. In Colombo bomb attack innocent kid Jayan Chowdhury was killed including 42 foreign nationals. The suicide attackers committed this cowardice attack. We condemn this kind of attack, she said.

She called upon all to inform the law enforcing agencies if any body can smell the presence of this kind of militants and terrorists. She said that I was a victim of serious grenade attack on August 21 at the Bangabandhu avenue. On August 15 of 1975 Bangabandhu and his family members were killed mercilessly to undo the spirit of liberation war.

The killers have no religion and they also do not believe in any religion. If they had any faith on Allah and his prophet Mohammad(Pbh) then they could not have done it. It is not the duty of any man who is Muslim or not. There is no such saying in Holy Quran that human will judge who is Muslim or not. It will be decided by the Almighty Allah. Those who want to judge it they do not obey Allah. So this cannot be accepted if anybody wants to throw dirt on peaceful religion Islam, she said.

She further mentioned that our Intelligence and law enforcing agencies are ever vigilant regarding these elements. But the people must come forward. We should now start campaign for creating public opinion against the militants and terrorism to make Bangladesh a developed and peaceful country, she added.
