JS passes a motion unanimously against terrorism and sexual harassment

Dhaka: Bangladesh Jatiyo Sangsad(JS) unanimously passed a motion calling upon all governments, parliaments all citizens to build up resistance against the culprits of New Zealand mosque attack, Sri Lankan bomb attack and sexual harassment of Nusrat Jahan Rafi including all sexual harassments.

Taking part in the general discussion the JS members of both treasury bench and senior opposition members told that in the whole world a bloody game is going on around the world in the name of religion. This cannot be stopped if stringent laws are not framed, they opined. There is also a conspiracy in Bangladesh creating social erosion some are trying to undo the achievements of the governments. If these culprits are not hanged then it will not stop, they said.

The discussion continued for four hours in the evening of Monday(April 29) and the motion was passed unanimously. The discussion was participated by treasury bench members including Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, opposition members of Gonoforum, and BNP.

The discussion was participated among others by former Ministers Amir Hossain Amu, Mohammad Nasim, Matia Chowdhury, Shajahan Khan, Workers party president Rashed Khan Menon, Sultan Mohammad Mansur of GF, Jatiyo Party members Barrister Anisul Islam Mahmood, Mashiur Rahman Ranga, Fakhrul Imam, Harun ar Rashid of BNP and treasury bench member Meher Afroz Chumki.

The motion was brought by former Minister and senior Awami League leader Tofael Ahmed under section 144(1) to ensure capital punishments for the offenders involved with terrorism, militancy and sexual harassment. Tofael Ahmed said that not only in Sri Lanka but the whole world is under threat of these dangerous elements. In Bangladesh, militancy was born during the rule of BNP-Jamaat. The actions taken by our Prime Minister in the Holy Artisan attack was acclaimed in the whole world.

Tofael Ahmed said that the population of the world is now eight billion. There is a disunity in the Muslim world and added that who are creating this IS, Talebans and Al Qaueda groups. The International world is passing through unrest. Our Bangladesh is a country of peace and we have progressed in all indicators.

Former Minister and senior Awami League leader Mohammad Nasim and Workers party president Rashed Khan Menon also addressed the parliament in the same vein and stressed the need for stopping these incidents of militancy, terrorism and sexual harassment ensuring capital punishments of the offenders.
