ESTex-BUET organized a three-day long workshop on Industrial Water and Sanitation: Choosing and Managing ETP, STP and Rainwater Harvesting.
ETP Managers and Operators from different industries, Policy makers, graduate students and professionals in relevant fields participated at the workshop held at BUET Chemical Engineering department seminar room.
The workshop encompassed comprehensive analysis about Choosing and Managing ETP, STP and Rainwater Harvesting, guidelines and legislations, policy talks, expert opinions, presentations and question answer sessions, relevant case studies and group exercise.
Dr. Syeda Sultana Razia (Professor, Department of Chemical Engineering, BUET), Syed Azizul Haq (President, RAiN FORUM), Arch. Md. Asraful Alum (Secretary, RAiN FORUM), Abdullah Al Muyeed (Head of Policy and Advocacy, WaterAid Bangladesh), Engr. M.A. Mohit (SUEZ Water Technologies and Solutions), Engr. Masud Rana Shahin (DANA Engineers International), Dr. Md. Shahinoor Islam (Associate Professor, Department of Chemical Engineering, BUET) and Dr. Mohidus Samad Khan (Associate Professor, Department of Chemical Engineering, BUET) participated in the workshop as resource persons. Dr. Mohidus Samad Khan, Project Manager of Environmental Sustainability in Textile Industries (ESTex) moderated the workshop.
The occasion was graced by honorable chief guest Dr. Sultan Ahmed, Director General of Department of Environment and special guest Mr. Khairul Islam, Country Manager of WaterAid Bangladesh. Participants received certificates and workshop materials at the closing session and expected more of such training programs in the future.
