Fani will enter Bangladesh on Saturday morning

Cyclone Fani is likely to enter Bangladesh area in the morning of Saturday(May 4) after it hit Odissa. It is set to enter Jashore and Satkhira area by noon 12 O’clock. The cyclone is proceeding at an speed of 21 kilometers per hour.

Director of Metrology directorate Shamsuddinn Ahmed on Friday night (May3) told this in a prèss briefing.

After originating in the South Bay of Bengal this powerful cyclone after changing its directions several times finally hit Odissa on Friday and caused death of three lives so far and also slapped enormous losses.

On the other hand the International Metrological departments kept Fani in serial no. 4 adjudging its severity which was likely to hit at an average speed of 200 kilometers per hour. After hitting Odissa it is now proceeding towards Bangladesh via Kolkata.

However after hitting Odissa, Fani started losing its strength. Though its severity has slide down but it has not lost direction and speed. On Friday night world Metrological department informed this.

Director Shamsuddin said that as Fani is proceeding on land so there is a slim chance of tidal bore, however it cannot be guaranteed. The cyclone has travelled about 1500 kilometers after it originated. He further informed that due to the impact of Fani the over all weather across the country will be calamitous.
