Biman Bangladesh Airlines authority will bear all the treatment expenses of the injured passengers of Yangon accident of the aircraft. It may be mentioned here that a Biman aircraft met an accident when it skidded off the runway while it was making landing on Wednesday(May 8) afternoon at Yangon airport of Myanmar.
Of the total 35 injured in the accident 4 were released from the Yangon hospital last night. The rest are now still under treatment.
General Manager (PR) of the national flag career Shakil Meraj informed the journalists on Thursday(May 9) that initiatives have been taken to provide all kinds of services and assistances to the injured from the Biman authority. Beside, the Bangladesh Embassy in Myanmar is keeping all time contact with the injured about their welfare. He further informed that all injured are now out of danger. Biman informed that after the accident 19 were admitted to hospital. Of them four were released last night.
On the other hand though a special Biman flight was sent to Yangon for bringing the injured but could not bring no injured passenger. However the waiting 17 passengers returned to Dhaka.
The Biman authority said that the accident occurred due to inclement weather at the airport.
On Wednesday it was told by the Biman authority there were 33 passengers in the flight but on Thursday they told there were two more including two ground engineers bringing the total to 35.
