DB police recovers 56 passports from 23 Rohingyas in the city

Detective Branch (DB) police officials of Dhaka City (West) recovered 56 passports from 23 Rohingyas.

The DB officials told that we are still not sure that whether these passports are genuine or fake. So those seized passports have been sent to Special branch of police for verification. After verification, if those passports are found to be genuine then it is ascertained that some ’big fishes’ are involved in racket.

Police after detaining 23 Rohingyas, more four were arrested suspected to be involved in this racket. Those four have given very sensitive information in remand. 

Quoting the accused, police said that even earlier that influential racket have sent Rohingyas to Malaysia in exchange of a fat amount of money.

It is learnt from DB sources that it is apprehended that some very ‘big fishes’ are involved with this racket. The DB police are desperately trying to nab them.

DB (West) DC Mokhlesur Rahman told Barta24.com that the detained accused persons have given sensitive information. Those are being verified and cross checked. If it is proved  to be correct then the incident will take a new turn.

Meanwhile the court has ordered to return back the Rohingyas to their camps. Accordingly the police will send them to Ukhia Rohingya camps of Cox’s Bazar.

Earlier on Friday (May10) 26 people including 23 Rohigyas were arrested by DB police from a house in Madhyapara of Khilkhet in the capital.    

After that police carried on a raid in the house of a human trafficking ring leader in Malibagh. One Shipon, son in law of a member of human trafficking ring was arrested. On the basis of his information police arrested the rest suspects.
