Dhaka, (Barta24.com): The introduction of river route connecting Gomoti river of India and Godagari of Rajshahi would help increase connectivity between two neighboring countries.
The survey work of excavating of Gomoti and Godagari river route has already been done. Afterwards taking the decisions of the Technical committee the excavation work will be done and then the route will be brought under operation.
On Thursday (May 16) Indian High Commissioner in Dhaka Riva Ganguly Das met with the State Minister of Shipping Khalid Mahmud Chowdhury MP at latter’s secretariat office and told this.
The High Commissioner also called upon the State Minister about excavating Gomoti, Jakiganj-Ashuganj and Godagari river routes.
The State Minister informed the envoy that there are air, land and river connectivity between India and Bangladesh. In some places the work is going on financed by India.
The matter of introducing the land port of Birol of Dinajpur and Radhikapur of India was also discussed in the meeting.
