Boeing 737-800 added to Biman fleet

In Bangladesh Biman airliner a new 737-800 model Boeing aircraft has been added. The aircraft brought from the Kuwait’s aircraft leasing company Alfaco landed at Hazrat Shahzalal International Airport on the night of Wednesday (May 15).

General Manager (PR) of Biman, Shakil Miraj informed that this will be the fifth Boeing bringing the number of aircrafts to 14.

In the present fleet there are Bimans’ own purchased new 4 Boeing 777-800 ER , two Biman owned Boeing 787 dream liners, two own purchased Boeing 737-800, leased two Boeing 787 dream liners and three Dash 8 Q 800 aircrafts.

In next June the sixth Boeing 737-800 will be added to the fleet. Besides, in next July and September two newly purchased Boeing 787 dream liners will joined the fleet.

After procuring new aircrafts Biman has taken initiative to strengthen its capacity and going to open new routes and enhance networks. As part of this initiative Biman has introduced Dhaka-Delhi direct flight. From next July the Dhaka- Guangju direct flight will be introduced. The national flag carrier in next October will introduce the fourth destination of Dhaka- Medina direct flight along with the existing Jeddah, Dammam and Riyadh.

From next July Biman Bangladesh Airlines is planning to increase the frequency of domestic flights to meet the demand of the passengers.

Now the Biman is conducting 16 regular International and domestic flights. In last fiscal year Biman has transported a record passengers of 26 lakhs.
