Sheikh Hasina stresses on peace and development of the country

Dhaka,(Barta24.com): Awami League president and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina urged all professional to work for maintaining peace and development of the country from their respective positions.

She told all these at an Iftar Mahfil organized on Tuesday(May 21) at Gonobhavan.

She expressed her sorrow over the matter as the Prime Minister could not meet every body going around all tables seated by the invitees like previous years.

Sheikh Hasina said, ”generally every year I go around all tables and exchanged pleasantries but this year I could not do so because of my illness of my eye and also due to the age factors. There is also restriction of the doctor. For that reason I express my sorrow.”

She expressed her gratitude to all to attend this Iftar Mahfil in such humid weather.

Remembering the development of the country done by the Father of Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, the Prime Minister said, “that he got only 3.5 years of time and during that time he did a miracle. But it is unfortunate for the nation that he was killed along with her most family members. On that day we lost our father, mother and brothers but the people ofBangladesh lost their possibilities of development.”

The Prime Minister mentioned the various steps taken by her government to bring back that lost dignity and glory of the country.

Addressing all professional and classes of people she expressed her thanks and to maintain the peace and development by working selflessly from their respective positions. She also mentioned that the prayers of the Muslims during the month of Ramadan are generally granted. So, let us pray to Almighty Allah for granting our prayer. She said we are also working to develop villages to bring them at per with the urban people.

She also said that we have got the opportunity of serving the people and would continue to work to be materialized to attain the cherished goal of the Father of the Nation.

Our actions to resist terrorism, militancy, and corruption would continue and said that our law enforcing agencies including police and Rab are working relentlessly to ensure security of the people. We have suppressed these menaces of militancy, terrorism and our actions and vigilance would continue. She further said that we like to build up Bangladesh a peaceful and developed nation inSouth Asia as it has already become a role model for all.

More present at stage were Awami League general secretary and Bridges Minister Obaidul Kader, National professor Dr. Rafiqul Islam, VC of Dhaka University Dr. Akhtaruzzaman, Attorney General Mahbubey Alam and FBCCI president Sheikh Fazle Fahim.
