Dhaka, (Barta24.com): Awami League president and the Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina was conferred life time membership of DUCSU. Simultaneously, a condemnation resolution was taken on the incident of scratching the life time membership memorandum to the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman on January 2, 1973 and it has been included in the agenda of the next executive committee(EC) meeting.
On last Thursday(May 30)in the EC meeting of DUCSU the decision was taken. DUCSU GS Golam Rabbani in a press briefing confirmed this to the journalists. DUCSU AGS Saddam Hossain, Cultural Secretary Asif Talukdar, EC member Nazrul Islam were present at this time.
The decisions taken in the meeting included the approval of budget to the tune of Taka one crore 89 lakh for 2019-20 fiscal year, the inclusion of the agenda of awarding life time membership to The Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman in the next meeting, to take necessary measures for introducing health insurance scheme for DU students of all departments and arrangement of policy dialogue after Eid festival for determining mass transport and rickshaw fare on the campus.
Regarding DUCSU GS Golam Rabbani said,” in the EC meeting an all agreed resolution was adopted of conferring life time membership to Sheikh Hasina. The budget of DUCSU for fiscal year 2019-20 was placed. Besides, decisions on holding a dialogue to determine rickshaw fare on the campus and introduction of health insurance for the students.”
