Daulatdia-Paturia ghat is one of the gateways for the people of 21 districts of South Western region of the country. The ferries and launches are waiting at Paturia ghat under Manikganj district for the thousands of Eid makers to help cross the river Padma.

As there is no pressure of passengers the marine transports are to make wait for a long time.

Eid ul Fitr, the biggest religious festival of the Muslims is only few days later. If only the office opening Monday is left then practically the holiday has begun on Friday(May31). Many a people were found to return on Thursday after attending offices. There was some pressure on that day. On Friday there was some pressure of small motor vehicles in ferry. But today (Saturday) there is no such pressure of passengers. Even the number of passengers is lesser than normal time.

Visiting the ghat area on Saturday (june1) it was found that while in normal time thousand of vehicles cross Padma every day there is no such vehicle at all. The river transports are found passing idle time anchoring their transports. The launches are leaving Paturia with less number of passengers.

The ferries are to make wait at the terminal for long time without transports to be ferried.

Launch Master Ibadat Shaikh told Barta 24.com that still there is no pressure of passengers at launch ghat but expected to rise in the evening.
