Agitated people set fire in Magistrates’ vehicle near Tangail

The sufferings of the passengers due to heavy tailbacks on the eastern side of Dhaka-Tangail – Bangabndhu bridge at Rasulpur of Sadar upazilla a group of stranded agitated people set fire to the transport of an on duty Magistrate.

The incident occurred on Tuesday noon(June4).

The 14 kilometers area of from Elenga to Bangabandhu Bridge is totally jammed by the hundreds of transports going to Northern Bengal from Dhaka.

It is learnt that from Tuesday morning this tailbacks has been created for unknown reason. This jam has spread around 65 kilometers area from Bangabandhu Bridge to Mirzapur of Tangail. There are also pressures of goods laden trucks along with passenger buses. Due to this suffering the people became very much agitated that led them to set fire to the vehicle of the on duty Magistrate of the district administration. Earlier Magistrate Rokonuzzaman was on duty with this vehicle.

On the other hand in Bikramhati area the stranded passengers of the buses expressing resentment set fire in tires.

The officer in charge of Kalihati PS Mir Mosharraf Hossain confirming the incident told Barta24.com that in Rasulpur area the agitated stranded people set fire to the official jeep of an on duty Magistrate.
