From Jatiyo Sangsad Bhavan: Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has been working relentlessly to fulfill the dreams of Bangabandhu. Awami League (AL) presidium members said that the development of the country is only possible when Awami League comes to power. They all called upon the countrymen to extend their all out support to Awami League for the development of the country.

The Presidium members who are also MPs told all these while taking part in the general discussion on the proposed budget of 2019-20 on Sunday night (June 23).

Former Minister and AL presidium member Amir Hossain Amu said that Awami League has been fighting since its birth. He said that Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman had built up movement against the Pakistani rulers along with carrying discussion with them. For this reason the countrymen organized under the leadership Bangabandhu. In the election of 1970 the people cast their vote in favor of Awami League and also joined the liberation war. We got the recognition of a free nation liberating the country after waging nine months war.

He further said that under the leadership of Sheikh Hasina Bangladesh is now a role model of development. Her reputation has now spread world wide. The stream of her development has now waved the whole world. The development of the country is only possible under Sheikh Hasina and Awami League. He called upon for cooperation of all in her development efforts.

Former Commerce Minister Tofael Ahmed said that many big leaders will come and go in all ages but no one like the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu will come. Nothing was in his mind except the liberation of Bangladesh. He was the leader of all the suppressed and oppressed people of not only of Asia but of the whole world.

Tofael Ahmed said that Bangabandhu liberated the country with two dreams. One was the liberation of the country and the second was the economic emancipation of the Bangalee nation free from hunger and poverty. Bangabndhu gave us free country. Now his capable daughter Sheikh Hasina has been implementing the unfinished work of Bangabandhu.

When Sheikh Hasina returned to country on May 17, 1981 we saw that as if Bangabandhu had returned in the disguise of Sheikh Hasina. He called upon the Finance Minister to rectify some inconsistencies in the proposed budget though this is a good one.
