Dhaka,(Barta24.com): Information Minister Dr. Hassan Mahmud told that if local ads are telecast in the foreign TV channels in Bangladesh then the mobile court will be conducted to take appropriate measures as per law.
He told this to the journalists on Monday (July 1) noon in the conference room of the secretariat.
Information Minister said that to control the advertisements of local products in the foreign TV channels viewing in Bangladesh, the government will take measures by conducting mobile courts. The deputy Commissioners have been instructed to take actions as per law.
Earlier two organizations Jadu media and Nation wide were given notice to stop advertisements of local products in the foreign TV channels viewing in Bangladesh. They sought time and after expiry of that time they were sent ultimatum. That ultimatum has also expired yesterday (Sunday). So the mobile courts will be conducted countrywide from today (Monday).
According to law the mobile court can punish any one for this type of offence by imposing fine of maximum Taka two lakh or can pass order to suffer imprisonment for two years.
