CPC assures to provide help in Rohingya crisis

Communist Party of China (CPC) will make contacts with the State Councilor Aung San Suky and other leaders of Myanmar to bring a solution of the Rohingya crisis on the basis of understanding. On behalf of the party the influential leader of CPC and the Foreign Minister Sung Tao gave this assurance.

He said that, ‘We would discuss the matter of solving the protracted Rohingya issue with Aung San Suky and other political leaders of Myanmar on the basis of understanding’.

On Friday (July 5) afternoon the CPC leader gave this assurance when he met Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina at Diaountai state guest house.

Sung Tao also praised the leadership of Sheikh Hasina for the huge development activities taking place in Bangladesh. He also assured that China is always with Bangladesh in her all development efforts.

He said that, ’At present very friendly atmosphere has been prevailing between two countries and we would provide assistance in Bangladesh’s development journey.’

The CPC leader also mentioned the growth of GDP by Bangladesh as a rare achievement.

In her reply the Prime Minister said, ‘Bangladesh achieved GDP growth of 8.1 percent in the outgoing fiscal year while it has fixed the target of achieving 8.2 percent in the current fiscal’.

Sheikh Hasina, mentioning China as a partner of Bangladesh’s development said that ‘deep relation exists between Bangladesh Awami League and CPC.’

Sheikh Hasina reminded the CPC leader of her visit to China in 1993 as the leader of the Opposition and said that, ‘After her visit the relation between two parties became stronger. We will always try to maintain good relation. The aim of both Bangladesh and China is alike, alleviation of poverty and fulfill the basic needs of the people. My government has been working relentlessly working to achieve the target.’

The eldest daughter of Bangabandhu Sheikh Hasina also reminded the visits of China in 1952 and 1954 by the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.

Bangabandhu in a travelogue mentioned that a ‘New China’ is being built up.

Sheikh Hasina said, ’I can now see that new China which was presaged by Bangabandhu. She is now editing a book titled ‘New China’ based on Bangabandhu’s diary. The book containing his predictions about China would be published soon.’

The CPC leader becoming enthusiast about the book showed his interest to translate the book in Chinese language which would be distributed among the Chinese people.

The Prime Minister congratulated the Chinese people and CPC on the 70th founding anniversary of Peoples’ Republic of China.

Foreign Minister Dr. AK Abdul Momen, Prime Ministers’ Private Investment and Industry affairs adviser Salman F Rahman MP, State Minister for Foreign Affairs Md. Shahriyar Alam MP, Chairman of the Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs Col (Rtd) Muhammad Faruq Khan MP, Foreign Secretary Md. Shahidul Haque and Ambassador of Bangladesh to China M. Fazlul Karim were present at this time among others.

The Prime Minister is now in China on an official 5 day visit to China. She attended the annual meeting of World Economic Forum and held meetings with the top Chinese leaders.
