A landslide caused by heavy rain has killed two people in Kaptai area of Rangamati.
The deceased are Uzzal Mollik (3) and Tahmina Begum (25).
The incident took place around 12pm on Monday at Kalabagan area of Kaptai upazila, said Rangamati district official Uttam Kumar Das.
Kaptai Upazila Chairman Mofizul Islam also confirmed the landslide incident to Barta24.com.
The landslide occurred due to heavy downpour started late on Sunday and the victims got buried alive under the mud, the Upazila chairman said.
Later, locals along with fire service officials recovered the bodies after a rescue operation.
