The Dutch Queen Maxima of the Netherlands, who is UN secretary general's special advocate for inclusive finance for development, has arrived in Dhaka.
Queen Maxima is visiting Bangladesh to promote people's access to financial services.
Foreign Minister Dr AK Abdul Momen received the Dutch queen at the Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka on Tuesday evening.
During her visit, the Dutch queen will discuss, in particular, how to improve women's access to financial services.
Maxima is also set to focus on discussing ways of digitalizing salary payments, and supporting women entrepreneurs, among other topics.
She will also highlight the importance of introducing a national identity system and its link to digital payment platforms.
The Bangladeshi National Strategy for Inclusive Finance (NFIS) is also included in her agenda.
Queen Maxima is set to meet development partners and representatives of the financial technology sector at the local UN office on Wednesday.
