Former President and Chairman of Jatiya Party (JP) Hossain Mohammad Ershad breathed his last (Innah Lillahi …….Rajiun) on Sunday (July 14) at Combined Military Hospital (CMH), Dhaka. The iron man was under treatment there for quite some time. He was 89.
He was admitted to CMH on last June 26 when his health condition deteriorated. The physicians told that his lungs caught fluid. He also developed breathing problem.
He was on life support for last few days. Finally he left this earthly mundane leaving a long colorful career as Army Chief, Chief Martial Law Administrator (CMLA) and President of the country for long nine years. He was also in prison and also as leader of the opposition lastly.
