Jatiya Party Chairman Hussain Mouhammad Ershad will be buried in Rangpur.
Raushon Ershad, wife of HM Ershad also the senior co-Chairperson of Jatiya party has given the permission for the burial, party sources said.
The former president died at Combined Military Hospital (CMH) on Sunday.
Following his death, the party’s Rangpur unit leaders demanded that Ershad be buried either in Rangpur or beside the mausoleum of three leaders at Suhrawardy Udyan in Dhaka.
However, Jatiya Party decided to bury Ershad at Dhaka’s Army Graveyard after Asr prayers on Monday.
Earlier in the morning, his body was taken to Rangpur for fourth namaz-e-janaza.
