Jatiya Party Chairman HM Ershad has been buried in Rangpur.
Expressing heartfelt gratitude to the people of Rangpur for their emotion, love and respect for HM Ershad, his wife Rowshan Ershad today gave consent for the former president’s burial in Rangpur.
She also requested for keeping some land for her burial beside the grave of Ershad, according to a JP press release.
The day Ershad died, JP leaders said that he would be buried at Banani military graveyard in Dhaka.
However, JP leader and also the Mayor of Rangpur City Corporation Mostafizar Rahman and other local leaders demanded that he should be buried in Rangpur. Even yesterday they firmly stated their demand.
