Dhaka-Benapole rail service to be inaugurated on Wednesday

Prime Minister (PM) Sheikh Hasina will formally inaugurate the much awaited Benapole Express rail service on Wednesday (July 17) morning through a video conferencing from Ganabhavan. The PM will also simultaneously inaugurate the extended services of Banalata Express to ChapaiNawabganj.

In the inauguration function of Benapole Express Director General (DG) of Railway Md. Shamsuzzaman and other high officials will be present.

While visiting the Benapole railway station on Tuesday (July 16) night it was found that hundreds of people with much inquisitiveness have gathered there to see the inauguration. Meanwhile the selling of tickets has begun. To ensure security of the passenger additional security measures were taken.

A railway source told that after inauguration the train will start for Dhaka at 1-30 P.M. (noon) with passenger on board. Again it will leave Dhaka at 12-30 A.M. (night) towards Benapole. The train leaving Benapole everyday will run through Jashore, Iswardi junction enroute to Kamalapur station via Dhaka airport station. The train will make short stoppage at the airport station for dropping and taking passenger and finally reach its destination.

In the train there are 12 carriages with 896 seats. The train consists of one carriage with AC chair coach and one cabin carriage. The fare of the different categories of seat have been fixed at Cabin Taka 1228, AC Chair coach Taka 1025 and Non-AC Shovon Taka 534. There are cabins of 4 and 8 seats. The train will run for six days a week without any stoppage.

The station master of Benapole station told bartatwentyfour.com that meanwhile we have taken all preparations for the inauguration of Benapole Express. He said that the train after leaving Benapole station will make a stop at operational station Jashore for 15 minuets. During this time the engine of the train will be placed on right track making it Dhaka facing.

Next it will make a stop at Iswardi station for 15 minuets for replacing the operational workers. Next it will leave for final destination Kamalapur station. However it will make another short stoppage at airport railway station for dropping and taking passenger.
