RAB nabs a group of human traffickers along with two Rohingyas

Dhaka: In a special raid carried on by RAB -10 in South Keraniganj 13 members of alleged human traffickers including two Rohingyas have been detained.

On Thursday (July 18) elite force RAB – 10 in a special drive they have been captured from South Keraniganj.

The deputy company commander of RAB -10 Major Mohammad Ashraful Haque said that a group of human traffickers numbering 11 were detained when they were trying to manufacture forged documents, visa and passport for the displaced Myanmar nationals to give them the identity of Bangladeshi national with the object of sending them abroad.

Major Ashraf said that our drive is still going on at Haji Noor Hossain ghat area of South Keraniganj. After primary interrogation we have come to learn that this group used to send the Rohingyas to Middle Eastern countries and Malaysia with the identity of Bangladeshi national with forged documents.

He further said that two Rohingyas were also detained. They were allegedly trying to go abroad with forged passports. In the raid 251 passports were recovered. Besides, investigation is underway to see whether any person of the Passport and Immigration department is involved with them.
