Earthquake jolts parts of Bangladesh

A 5.5-magnitude earthquake shook the capital and some other parts of the country around 3.20pm (BDST).

The epicenter of the quake was at Bomdila area in Kamang district of India's Arunachal state, 293 kilometers northwest of Dhaka and 325 kilometers away from Sylhet, Dhaka Met office informed Barta24.com.

Earthquakes of magnitudes 5 to 5.9 on Richter scale are considered moderate earthquake which can cause slight damage to buildings.
