State Minister for Foreign Affairs Shahriyar Alam has strongly condemned the allegation of one Pryia Saha to US President Donald Trump about the repression on the minority communities. Priya Saha introducing herself as the organizing secretary of Bangladesh Hindu- Buddhist –Christian Oikya Parishad last week made the complain about the recurring repression carried out on the minority communities.
On Friday (July 19) the State Minister said in his Face Book post, ‘I personally discussed and answered to many questions on Human Rights condition in Bangladesh and of the world in the full House of United Nations where respected Rana Das Gupta and other personalities like him were present. But I never found someone to make such allegation like Pryia Saha. He further said that,’ I strongly condemn this strange and false allegation of Priya Saha. It will be enquired into why she did such. Government will hear her complains and will investigate.’
He said that President Trump also knows that false allegation has been made. Because the President keeps himself updated about the various happenings in Bangladesh through US embassy.’
However, the State Minister also condemned and said that some quarters have done excesses while criticizing Priya Saha which is also not desirable as Priya Saha did. Such comments made by some important people is not acceptable, said the State Minister.
Shahriyar said that Bangladesh is an example of communal harmony. But some people out of personal gain or without understanding anything try to damage this harmonious situation. Everybody should be restrained from doing it, he added.
