Mizanur Rahman, the suspended Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Police has been shown arrested in a case filed for transaction of Tk 40 lakh as bribe.
A Dhaka court Judge KM Emrul Kayesh passed the order after Anti-Corruption Commission Director Sheikh Mohammad Fanafilya submitted a petition for showing Mizan arrested in the case.
Fanafilya, also investigation officer of the case, filed the petition with the court on July 17.
Mizan is now in jail in connection with another graft case filed over acquiring wealth illegally.
The bribery case was filed by Fanafilya against Mizan and suspended ACC director Khandaker Enamul Basir with its Dhaka district coordination office-1 under the Money Laundering Prevention Act.
