Foreign Minister Dr. AK Abdul Momen blamed the Rohingyas for showing dilly dallying attitude in returning to their own country. If they continue to show such attitude for long then we will be compelled to take our decision through discussion, he commented.

The foreign minister said that if Myanmar ensures security then the Rohingyas should go back.

On Sunday (July 28) he was speaking as the chief guest in a seminar titled ‘Crisis of Rohingyas in Bangladesh: challenge and permanent solution’ held in the North South University(NSU).  Dr. Momen said that I am very much optimist that the Rohingya repatriation process would start soon. Earlier the repatriation of Rohingyas was delayed due to the negative role of Myanmar.

When he was asked about seeking of political asylum by former chief justice S. K. Sinha in Canada and Priya Saha in USA,  the foreign minister replied that that still now I do not know anything about the two matters. However, Priya Saha did not say the truth to US President.

Regarding Justice S.K. Sinha he said that the matter is being looked by the Law ministry so I am also unaware about it.

The seminar was chaired by NSU vice- chancellor Professor Atiqul Islam.Assistant permanent representative of UNHCR Alister Bulton and NSU board of trustee’s Chairman Benazir Ahmed also spoke in the seminar.
