Four people have been killed and 20 others injured after a bus rammed a parked truck in Gopalganj's Kashiani upazila.
The deceased are Gaffar Molla, 70, from the Dumuria village of Narail, Kibria Molla, 50, and Chanmia, 32, and Lokman Miah, 60, of the Jogania village of the same district.
The accident took place at the upazila's Bhatiapara intersection around 11am on Monday.
“The bus was heading to Deshpur from Gopalganj,” Azizur Rahman, officer-in-charge of Kashiani police station, said.
He said: "On the way to Deshpur, the driver lost control of over the steering and rammed into the parked truck, leaving three people dead on the spot.
“The other injured died at Kashiani Upazila Health Complex", he said.
He also informed that the victims were going to go to Faridpur for harvesting jute. They were all day laborers.
Bhanga highway police, members of fire service carried out the rescue operation with the help of locals.
