Foreign Minister of Japan Tara Kono has come to Dhaka on a three day visit. On Monday (July 29) evening at 8-15 P.M. Foreign Minister of Japan Tara Kono reached Hazrat Shahjalal International airport in a special flight. Secretary of Asia and Pacific region of the ministry of foreign affairs received him at the airport.
On Tuesday (July 30) he will visit Rohingya camps in Cox’s Bazar and will exchanged views there with the stake holders. On that day after returning to the capital he hold formal meeting with Bangladesh Foreign Minister Dr. AK Abdul Momen. He is scheduled to return on Wednesday (July 31).
In August of last year Tara Kono visited Dhaka. Besides, Rohingya issue Tokyo wants the support of Dhaka in holding the World Expo 2025.
Moreover in next 2023-24 period Japan is interested to contest for the temporary post of UN Security Council. Japan also wants Dhaka by its side for the purpose.
