The High Court has directed the government and Dhaka’s two city corporations to inform, when effective pesticides against mosquitoes will be brought in Bangladesh.
The bench of Justice Tariq-ul-Hakim and Justice Md Shohrowardi passed the directive on Tuesday.
The government and both the city corporations will have to inform the court about the import of pesticides by 2pm Thursday.
The court gave the directives when DSCC Chief Health Officer Brigadier General Md Sharif Ahmed and DNCC Chief Health Officer Brigadier General Md Mominur Rahman Mamun submitted a report on the issue before the court through their counsel.
Earlier on July 25, the High Court had asked the chief health officers of Dhaka North and South city corporations to bring effective insecticides within July 30 to stop the spread of Aedes mosquitoes and dengue virus.
