Thakurgaon: The death toll in Thakurgaon road crash rose to ten when two more under treatment injured succumbed to their injuries at Dinajpur hospital on Friday evening after they were shifted from Thakurgaon hospital as their condition deteriorated further. It may be mentioned here that on Friday (August 2) morning five passengers were killed and 22 received injuries on the spot when two passenger coaches belonging to Dipzol Paribahan and Nishat Paribahan collided head on at Khochabari area under Baliadangi upazilla on Thakurgaon – Dhaka highway. Later on two died at Thakurgaon modern hospital. One died later when he was being shifted to Rangpur.
The two died at Dinajpur Medical College hospital hospital were identified as Anwara begum, 50 wife of one Dabirul Islam of Mistripara under Baliadangi upazilla and Kamrunnessa, 50 wife of late Abu Sayed of Dhukur Bari of same upazilla.
The eight died in the morning in the road crash were identified as Mostofa,42 of Bangrol village under Baliadangi upazilla, his wife Monsura Begum,35, Abdur Rahman, 40 of Songaon village under same upazilla, Swarasati Shaha, 50 of Lahiri Hat, Abdul Majid, 42 of Lakhsmipur village, Khitisah Barman, 40 of Kalibari village, Mongoli Rani, 63 and Joba Rani, 35 of Birganj.
