A huge rally against dengue, rumor, child marriage and drug was held on Monday (August 5) morning here at Faridpur Zilla school premises.
The rally was organized jointly by Faridpur district administration and Faridpur Pourashava.
Addressing the rally Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Faridpur, Atul Sarkar stressed the need for creating awareness about the dengue fever which has already spread across the country. He told the huge rally that dengue has taken serious turn and every one should be very much careful about the disease.
He said that necessary arrangements have already been made in all the private hospitals, government hospitals and clinics to test the suspected dengue cases and its treatment in this district.
Speaking on rumors he warned the rumor mongers. He called upon the people not to believe the rumors which has already costs many valuable lives.
DC Atul Sarkar said that child marriage is a curse and urged people to be alert against this curse.
He also advised the guardians to take care of their wards so that they do not induced to take drugs and thereby spoiled their valuable future.
The rally was also addressed by among others Police Super Md. Alimuzzaman and Pourashava Mayor Shaikh Mahatab Ali Methu.
Thousands of students, scouts and youth attended the rally who laetr on paraded the main thoroughfares of the town.
