PM exchanges Eid greetings with the people

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina wishing her Eid greetings to the countrymen said that, ‘Bangladesh is marching ahead, the life style quality of the people is improving, the poverty has reduced remarkably, income has increased, we want to build up the country as dreamt by the Father of Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman- our government is working in that direction,’ she added. 

She said that, ‘I want to express my gratitude to my countrymen who reposed confidence on me and my party. I got opportunity to serve them and I must honor their confidence. I will take the country ahead.’

On Monday (August 12) morning while exchanging Eid greetings at Ganabhavan she said, ‘Let the happiness of Eid come in all houses, I wish all celebrate Eid, I wish my country’s development on this great day.’

She said that, ‘They will understand the loss of their kith and kin who lost it. Despite our greatest loss of my parents and brothers I am serving the people, I am sacrificing my life. I know that if the people of Bangladesh are in peace then the souls of my parents will be in peace.’

To achieve the ultimate goal many of my leaders and workers were repressed, tortured, faced deaths, received injuries, many families are still survived with the pain of losing their own people. I remember them with honor and dignity.’

Commenting that despite all odds Bangladesh will march ahead and the Prime Minister added that Bangladesh has now occupied a dignified place in the comity of nations.

The Eid greetings began at Gonobhavan at 10 o’clock morning. Daughter of the Prime Minister Saima Wazed Hossain Putul, Awami League joint General Secretary Jahangir Kabir Nanak, Organizing secretary BM Mojammel Haque were present among others at that time.

Diplomats, politicians, poets, litterateurs, writers, journalists, teachers, intelligentsias, Judges and members of the cross section of the society attended the Eid greeting function. Later on the guests were served with varieties of sweetmeats.
