DMP boss gets short contractual appointment

Dhaka: Dhaka Metropolitan Police Commissioner(DMP) Md. Asaduzzaman Mia has been reappointed for one months’ contractual appointment subject to the cancelation of his Post Retirement Leave(PRL). This contractual appointment will get effect from August 14 and will expire on 13 September.

To this effect a notification was issued on Monday (August 13) by the Contracts and Foreign appointment section of the Public Administration ministry.

Deputy Secretary of the Public Administration ministry Oliur Rahman signed the notification by order of the President.

In the notification it was said that, ‘BCS(Police) cadre officer Md. Asaduzzaman Mia is given contractual appointment as DMP Commissioner from August 14 to September 13 subject to the condition of cancellation of his PRL.’

The conditions of this appointment will be decided by the approved contacts. The notification also mentioned that this order has been issued in public interest which will get effect immediately.

It is mentioned here that on Tuesday (August 13) Md. Asaduzzaman Mia was supposed to go on retirement. He has been holding the post of DMP Commissioner for the last four years.

He was born on August 14 of 1960 in Alfadanga of Faridpur district and joined as Assistant Police Super in Police department on February 15 of 1988.

He served in Sylhet, Pabna and Tangail districts as police super and DIG of several ranges. He was also once DIG of Highway division. He joined as DMP Commissioner on January 7 of 2015.
