Bodies of two Bangladeshi nationals killed in Kolkata reached country

The bodies of two Bangladeshi nationals killed in Kolkata road crash has been reached home around 9am on Sunday.

Benapole Port Police Station Officer-in-Charge Alamgir Hossen confirmed Barta24.com.

He said: “The bodies were handed to the families after completing official procedures.”

Earlier, an official of Deputy High Commission of Bangladesh in Kolkata Mofakkharul Iqbal has confirmed about departure procedures of the bodies to barta24.com.

He said that an ambulance carrying the two bodies will be sent to Dhaka by road. All formalities related to identifying the two bodies by Bangladesh Mission through contacting the foreign ministry of India have been completed.

The Deputy High Commission of Bangladesh in Kolkata is providing all co-operation in this regard.

On Friday (August 16) in a road crash at Shakespeare Sarani two Bangladeshi were killed. They have been identified as Mohammad Mainul Alam, 36 and Farhana Isla Tania, 30. Mainul Alam hailed from Jheniedah while Farhana Islam was from Mohammadpur of the capital. They went to Kolkata for treatment purpose, it was learnt.

On Saturday (August 17) the killer driver has been arrested by Kolkata police.

It may be mentioned here that the two Bangladesh nationals were killed when two posh cars – one of Jaguar brand another of Mercedes Benz brand collided head on at Shakespeare Sarani. Both the cars were on high speed, as told by Kolkata traffic police sources.
