Indian foreign minister S. Jaishankar is coming on Monday on a three-day visit to Dhaka.

This will be Jaishankar's first visit to Dhaka as foreign minister. Earlier he visited Dhaka as foreign secretary during Modi's first term.

During his visit Jaishankar will hold bi-lateral talks with his Bangladesh counterpart A.K.Abdul Momen on Tuesday. He will also chalk out detailed program of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina's Delhi visit in next October.

Earlier, Foreign Minister AK Abdul Momen described Jaishankar's forthcoming visit to Bangladesh as a "courtesy trip."

India is a leading development partner of Bangladesh, and it has extended concessional lines of credit totalling around $8 billion.

Minister Momen said he would discuss the LOC projects, expenditures and barriers to implementation of those projects, if any, and identify reasons to expedite the implementation process.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will visit India in October next to discuss bilateral issues, including the ones related to common rivers, to take the growing relations between Bangladesh and India forward.
