Sheikh Hasina called upon the students to work with dedication

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina asked the leaders and activists of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) to work for welfare of the people being imbued with the ideology of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.

She said to the leaders and activists of BCL that, ‘if you want to build yourselves as the soldier of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, you would have to work for the welfare of the people of the country by keeping away from all the personal gains following the ideals of Bangabandhu.

The Prime Minister on Saturday (August 31) was addressing as the chief guest at a discussion meeting marking the 44th National Mourning Day and martyrdom anniversary of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman organized by the BCL at her official residence Ganabhaban.

‘Bangabandhu scarified his life for the betterment of the people. You would have to work for the people for whom Bangabandhu dedicated his entire life’, she said to the BCL activists.

One minute’s silence was observed at the function as a mark of respect to the memory of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and other martyrs of the August 15, 1975 carnage.

The Prime Minister also unveiled the cover of the Bangladesh Chhatra League’s regular publication ‘MatriBhumi’ and its monthly mouthpiece ‘Joy Bangla’, which is going to be published regularly from this August.

A three-minute video documentary on the activities of BCL and its role in building the nation and a promo of mobile game on the Liberation War made by Chhatra League leaders, were also displayed on the occasion.

Bangladesh Chhatra League President Rezowanul Haque Chowdhury Shovon presided over the function while its General Secretary Golam Robbani conducted it.

Among others Dhaka South City BCL president Mehedi Hasan and general secretary Md Zobair Hossain, Dhaka North City BCL President Ibrahim Hossain and general secretary Saidur Rahman Hridoy, Dhaka University BCL president Sanjib Chandra Das and general secretary Saddam Hossain , spoke on the occasion.

The function was also attended by the cabinet ministers, advisers to the Prime Minister, MPs, Senior leaders of Awami Laegue and former presidents and secretaries of BCL.
