Dhaka:  Minister of Foreign Affairs Dr. A. K Abdul Momen said that many people of India earlier told that there are also Bangladeshis in the National Registration of Citizens (NRC) list of Assam. But I am confident that there is not a single Bangladeshi in that list. Now the economic condition of Bangladesh is much better so none wants to go to India.

On Sunday (Sept.1) he told all these to the journalists while coming out from the Dhaka Club after inaugurating the Sheikh Kamal Memorial SAARC Snooker championship-19.

The foreign minister said that after 1947, 1971 and 1975 no Bangladeshi had gone to India. Those who had gone, they went for some other reason. The External Affairs Minister of India S. Jaishankar had told me that NRC was the internal matter of India, so there will be no problem for Bangladesh. We have told them that we are already in trouble with 11 lakh Rohingya people.

When asked that whether the government will take any step regarding NRC, he replied that we will not take any step. We will only observe the happenings.

Regarding the security at the borders he said that, every country takes care of their borders. Similarly we have strengthened our borders.
