Mamata to wage movement against NRC of Assam

The Trinamul Congress (TMC) wants to wage movement under the leadership of West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banarjee against the final list of National Registration of Citizens (NRC) of Assam published on last Saturday (August 31). In the final list of NRC more than 19 lakh citizens have been excluded making them stateless.

The TMC supremo alleged that in Assam state BJP has started the process of driving out the Bangla speaking people. BJP has started to drive out even the Gorkhas along with the Bangalees. The final list of NRC also excluded one lakh Gorkhas. BJP wants to create uneasy situation in Assam. They want to drive out both Bangalees and Gorkhas. 

Immediate after the publication of the NRC, TMC has been opposing it strongly. To oppose the NRC in Assam TMC is preparing to wage movement in all the districts across the West Bengal. This protest program will be held on next September 7 and 8. 

Besides a separate protest rally will be brought out in Kolkata district. On September 12 there will be a protest rally in Shaymbazar of North Kolkata. Chief Minister Mamata Banarjee will be present their in person. These were learnt from TMC sources.
