Dhaka: A fire incident occurred at the Election Commission (EC) building at Agargoan. After the broke out of fire on getting information 12 units of Fire Services and Civil Defense rushed to the spot. After working for 1.20 hours they brought the fire under control.
On Sunday (Sept.8) night at 12.25 P.M. the fire was extinguished. The control room operator of Fire Services department Forhadul Alam confirmed it to barta24.com.
Earlier at 11.6 P.M. the fire originated in the ground floor of the building.
Forhadul Alam said that after more than hour long fighting by12 units the fire was doused. However there were no reports of injury in the incident.
It is learnt from Fire Service sources that the incident occurred in the ground floor. However the intensity of the fire was not much. Twelve units were sent there as the building is very much important one. The cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained.
