DMP Commissioner orders the DCs to seat in the PS

The newly appointed Commissioner of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Md. Shafiqul Islam has issued orders to the Deputy Commissioners (DC) of Metropolitan area to seat in the police stations(PS) to ensure hassle free services to the people.

On Tuesday (Sept.17) the DMP Commissioner has issued a letter to the DCs of crime department of the Metropolitan area to seat at the PS.

A number of DCs of the metropolitan area has confirmed about this written directives in the evening to barta24.com.

On condition of anonymity a DC has told that to avoid any suffering of the service seekers it has been directed to seat at the PS for at least 2 to 3 hours in a week. We will seat in PS from to morrow to monitor the work there.

The DMP Commissioner in the letter has mentioned that often it is alleged that a large number of the service seekers are being deprived of getting their due services. It is alleged that the cognizable offences are not taken into cognizance; rather undue delay is being made. It is also alleged that the service seekers are being deprived of their rightful legal service instead they are dealt with hassles and unethical facilities are taken from the sufferers. With the object of increasing the quality of service and to look into the matters of hassle free, the Officer in Charge (OC) of the respective PS will take necessary measures. Simultaneously the zonal ACs and ADCs will keep all time monitoring.

In the directives it has been further told that the DCs within his jurisdiction will give time every week and give hearing to the service seekers directly.

Speaking on it Additional Police Commissioner of Ramna zone Abdullah Hel Kafi told barta24.com that we have already received these directives and accordingly we have started monitoring work in our zone.
