To achieve Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) it needs the cooperation of the associate countries. If the development partners do not give sufficient fund then it will be not possible to achieve SDG.

On Thursday (Sept.19) foreign minister AK Abdul Momen told all these in a seminar titled ‘SDG and Bangladesh’ held at Bangabandhu International Conference Center.

He said that it needs the involvement of all along with the cooperation of private sector. Committees of 16 ministries have been formed for procuring fund for achieving 17 goals.

The foreign minister said that if there is no partnership then we will not be able to achieve the goals. It needs enough money to achieve the goals. Every year an excess of 5 to 11 billion dollars will be required. Where we shall get such huge money if the associate countries do not to help us?

State Minister for foreign affairs Shahriyar Alom said that we had achieved all most all the steps of MDG successfully which would help in achieving the SDG. The foreign ministry is very closely watching the targets. A number of committees are working for this. Bangladesh has been extending support to the initiative of Secretary General of UN in reforming the world organization.

Regional Director of UNFP Bojorn Anderson said that Bangladesh and UN has been working on the basis of mutual cooperation for a long time. Hope this would continue, Anderson added.
