Finance Minister AHM Mustafa Kamal has said Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has become an ideal stateswoman of the world as her fame has gone beyond the boundary of Bangladesh and South Asia.
“She is a charismatic leader. Her fame is no more confined to the country,” he said while speaking at the inauguration of a two-day international conference in the capital on Sunday.
The Asian Development Bank organised the conference titled ‘Harnessing Blockchain Technology for Development’ at the Bangabandhu International Conference Centre.
Calling Sheikh Hasina an artist of development, the finance minister said she has no fascination for wealth.
“The prime minister has only fascination and that is working for the people of the country and taking the country ahead to build Sonar Bangla as dreamt by Bangabandhu [Sheikh Mujibur Rahman],” he said.
Mustafa Kamal expressed the hope that Bangladesh will be the 26th largest economy of the world by 2027 and one of the 20 developed countries by 2041.
He announced that employment will be ensured for at least one member of each family by 2030.
Prime Minister’s Energy and Mineral Resources Affairs Adviser Dr Toufiq-e-Elahi Chowdhury and Economic Relations Division Secretary Farida Nasrin also spoke at the inaugural session.
