Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader has said more big shots will be caught in the ongoing anti-graft purge.
"Those who have been arrested (in the drive) are not petty criminals. More big shots will be arrested in the coming days," he said.
Quader, also the Minister for Road Transport and Bridges, was speaking at a press briefing on the contemporary issues at his Secretariat office on Thursday (Oct Oct 3).
He said, "The anti-corruption drive will continue. It will take time to yield results... Criminals must be put on trial."
Quader said the Prime Minister and Awami League President Sheikh Hasina has instructed holding the councils of the ruling party's four associate bodies -- Jubo League, Sechchhasebok League, Krishak League and Shramik League by November.
"We've asked the leaders and activists to remain alert so that no infiltrators can secure places in the committee" he said.
