Three Rohingyas have been jailed for a month in Ukhia under Cox’s Bazar district after they tried to be voters giving fake documents and identities.
They are Abdul Hamid (32), son of Ayub Ali, Noor Hossain (28), son of Syed Hossain, and Murshida Begum (25), daughter of Hossain Ahmed, living in Daily Para of Jaliapalang union under Ukhia.
Ukhia Upazila administration sources said the three came to Sonarpara High School centre for giving their images to be voters but their behaviour seemed suspicious.
Upazila Nirbahi Officer Md Nikaruzzaman Chowdhury said the three admitted that they are Roingyas when they were quizzed. Later a mobile court awarded one month’s jail to them each.
