Facebook tags ‘Remembering’ in the profile of Abrar

Bangladesh Chattra Laegue (BCL) activists allegedly killed BUET student Abrar Fahad Mujahid on the night of Sunday (Oct.6). Face Book on the next day (Monday) Oct.7 has tagged added ‘Remembering’ in the profile of Abrar.

Face Book wrote on his profile picture, “We hope people who love Abrar will find comfort in visiting his profile to remember and celebrate his life” 

Now no one will be able to log in his profile with any ill motive. Moreover the risk of hacking the account is also gone.

It is learnt that he was killed on charge of a post in his Face Book given on Saturday (Oct. 5) last. That was Abrar’s last post which was shared for 43 thousand times. To this post about 1.50 lakh people expressed reaction. 

A murder case was filed by the father of the deceased accusing 19 BCL activists. Meanwhile BCL authority has permanently expelled 11 BCL activists of BUET.

Abrar was a student of Electrical and Electronics Engineering department (17th batch) of BUET. He was the son of Md. Barkatullah, a resident of PTI road of Kushtia town. Md. Barkatullah is an audit officer of BRAC while his mother Rokeya Khatun is a teacher of kindergarten.  

On the evening of Sunday at 8 o’clock Abrar a resident of Sher–e-Bangla hall (Room No. 1011) of BUET was called by some students. Next at 3 o’clock Abrar’s dead body was recovered by police from the ground floor of the hall. Police have arrested 9 students on charge of killing Abrar including four BCL activists.
